Nursery to SEE. Day school and boarding. Twenty-eight years of teaching the children of Dhanusha — in English, grounded in Nepali, rooted in Madhesh.
Shree Saraswati opened its gate in 2054 B.S. with a few classrooms and one promise: an honest English-medium education for the children of Mahendranagar and the villages around it. Twenty-eight years later, that promise is still the work.
Our students consistently pass SEE with strong grades, and many continue to +2 in Janakpur, Kathmandu and beyond. See the last three years on this page.
A separate hostel for boys and girls, three meals cooked on campus, evening study, weekend calls home, and a warden who knows every child by name.
We teach in English without losing Nepali. We celebrate the festivals our families celebrate. Most of our teachers are from Dhanusha and the surrounding districts.
[ Placeholder figures — to be confirmed with school office before launch. ]
Last three SEE batches. Mark-sheets available on request at the school office.
We follow the CDC curriculum with additional English language work across every grade.
Letters and numbers in two scripts, rhymes, drawing, story time and a great deal of running about. We start where every child starts — with play.
English-medium core. Daily morning assembly, weekly art and music, monthly field study. Foundations in maths, science, social studies and Nepali.
Specialist subject teachers, computer lab, debate and quiz clubs. First SEE preparatory work and bilingual essay writing across subjects.
Focused SEE preparation with extra coaching, mock tests, and one-on-one teacher support. Optional subjects: Computer Science, Account, Optional Maths.
Many of our students come from villages an hour or more from Mahendranagar. Boarding is how we make this school possible for them — with a separate hostel for boys and girls, three meals a day, a daily study schedule, and staff who live on campus.
[ Detailed hostel rules, fees and a downloadable boarding handbook will be added once finalised with the school office. ]
Twenty minutes of pranayama and stillness before the school day begins. Optional for day-scholars; part of the routine for boarders.
Six periods through the day, including a daily English period, a computer lab session twice a week, and library access for every grade.
Football, kabaddi, cricket, table tennis, music and debate clubs after the last period. Day-scholars head home by 4:30; boarders stay for evening study.
Saraswati teams regularly compete at inter-school level across Dhanusha and Madhesh Pradesh.
Saraswati Puja in spring, Holi in the courtyard, Dashain and Tihar with the boarders who stay back, and an annual sports day. Children grow up here without having to leave their culture at the gate.
When I joined this school, I made one rule for myself: any child who walks through our gate should leave better off than they came. Better in English, better in maths, better at thinking, better at being a person. Twenty-eight years on, that is still the only rule that matters.
